Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels

UUNB has pledged to be a Support Congregation in this interfaith effort to assist homeless families find steady employment and a home of their own. We volunteer at the day center, partner with Unity Church in feeding the families, and donate funds either directly, r individually, or as a sustaining member, the ongoing vehicle for funding this great program that moves families from homelessness to self sufficiency. Donations can be made through Paypal at www.fpgnb.org or ask any Service Committee member for a pledge card.

S.O.S. Food Bank

We staff the S.O.S Food Bank on the third and fifth Wednesdays of every month. Volunteers are welcome to come on board at any time. We also collect non-perishable foods and cash donations at UUNB.

Meals on Wheels Association of Texas

Ten members of our congregation alternate delivering Meals on Wheels on every Friday of the month. Backup drivers are always necessary to step in in times of illness or vacation.

Weekend Back Pack Program

We are currently collecting food items for certain needy students at Church Hill Middle School through a program administered by Communities in Schools: South Central Texas. A suggested list of items is posted on the bulletin board in the church hallway.

Comal County Habitat for Humanity

We are partnering with Faith United Church of Christ to build a home for a deserving family through the 'Apostles Build' program and also participate in 'Women Build'. In addition, we volunteer sales and office time at the Habitat ReStore and craft items to sell in the Habitat Boutique. More information is available on the CCHH website.

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee

The UU Service Committee is the vehicle through which we support humanitarian programs both domestically and abroad. Donations may be made through our UUNB Service Committee or through the UUSC website.
